Caleb’s Cause Foundation was created to allow children of all ages to be able to serve local children in need by supplying diapers to thousands of local families each year in an effort to stop child abuse and alleviate some of the financial burden families with young children endure.
“There seemed to be limited opportunities for children to serve other children in our community. I discovered that lack of diapers is one of the leading causes in child abuse. There are currently no state programs that cover the cost of diapers, a necessity for all children. I knew that this matter could no longer go ignored. Through prayer and guidance, Caleb’s Cause Foundation was created; to allow children to serve and be served,” says co-founder Marcie Hines.
It is named in honor of the Hines’ son, Caleb, as an example of children getting involved in the community and helping others.
“Since July of 2012, Caleb and other children in the community have been able to help out thousands of local children in need by participating in our annual fundraisers, as well as diaper drives they have held themselves.”
They have been a selected charity to receive funds from the RED Day Run for the past 5 years and really were instrumental in the creation of the event. Last year, the RED Day Run was able to give a whopping $18,650!!
Their 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run is Saturday, August 24th. Register here today!
